We all cherish food memories formed in childhood that continue to evolve throughout ourlives. Growing up in Maine in a family of six — with my parents and three younger sisters —my passion for food took root in my family’s culinary traditions. My father, who significantly influenced my outlook and love for food, often prepared a memorable breakfast dish. On chilly winter mornings, he would melt a generous knob of butter in a pan, add leftover cooked rice, and let it cook to a crispy golden brown before scrambling in several eggs.
